At the beginning, this project had to overcome an apparently unsurmountable problem: the conflicting views of the owners. A young couple, he showed a preference for a more contemporary style, while she was more traditional-leaning in her tastes, with a liking for baroque-style furnishings. Their furniture was solid-wood farmhouse chic. After several attempts, the compromise solution was to include several pieces of characterful "monumental" furniture standing out against a "minimal" backdrop.
